– FTX co-founder Gary Wang testified in court that he and Sam Bankman-Fried committed a multibillion-dollar fraud with customer funds, leading to the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange.

– Wang, who pleaded guilty to fraud and agreed to cooperate with the government, said Bankman-Fried directed him to alter FTX’s code to allow affiliated hedge fund Alameda Research to draw a $65 billion line of credit, causing FTX to be unable to pay customers who tried to withdraw.

– Wang also stated that their relationship was unequal, with Bankman-Fried having the final say on most business decisions.

– Another witness, Adam Yedidia, testified that Bankman-Fried was aware of an $8 billion shortfall at FTX from loans to Alameda several months before both companies collapsed.

– Yedidia also revealed that he received a $6 million cash bonus and several million dollars in cash bonuses and stock options from FTX.

– The defense tried to downplay Bankman-Fried’s wealth and highlight the close friendship between Yedidia and Bankman-Fried during the cross-examination.

– Yedidia stated that he resigned from FTX after learning that Alameda Research had been using customer funds to repay its creditors.

– Bankman-Fried’s trial continues, and more testimony is expected from Wang and other witnesses.
